On behalf of the Young Adults Association of Kambia Chios we would like to welcome you into our organization. This organization was begun by a few young people from Kambia with the goal of uniting all young people who descend from our village and live in North America. For many years the adult organization has served the same purpose and now the new generation can follow that example. In recent years we have drifted apart in some ways and lost the bond we all share as Kambousi. With this organization we hope to reestablish those ties and make them stronger than ever. The interest in this group has been overwhelming. After contacting almost everyone eligible to join we had nobody tell us that they didn’t want to take part in this group. Only a month after we began contacting people, we boast almost 80 members with more expected to join once we can get in contact with them! With this total we have instantly become one of the largest Chian Young Adults Organizations. We encourage everybody to take advantage of this great opportunity to connect with our heritage. We will be holding many events in the near future such as parties, ski trips, theme park trips, dances, picnics etc. These are great places to meet people and reconnect with others you have not seen in years. Membership is open to any person between 15 and 30 years old who descends from the villages of Kambia or Agrelopo. Meetings are not mandatory but are open to all members who wish to attend and be heard. We hope to see everybody at all our events!
